The entire history of the country, gathered piece by piece and presented in the form of unique material rarities appear before your eyes within the walls of that remarkable museum, which is considered one of the largest in Central Asia. The museum opened its doors in 1925. Since then its funds has received thousands of priceless artifacts.
The pride of the museum is its ethnographic collection, which includes rare samples of embroidery, carpet weaving, and jewelry. The archaeological collection is equally interesting, in particular the finds from the burial mounds of the 6th – 12th centuries, the Stone Age tools, pottery, metal and bronze items, jewelry.
